CMT Welcomes New Members
The Calgary Model Trainmen’s Club, founded in 1938, is an HO scale model railroad club. We have one layout that the members run trains on and we also take it to Supertrain and Heritage Park Railway Days. We are also constructing a second permanent layout at our club location. New members, of all skill levels, are always welcomed to come and join us. We help teach new skills and we give members a chance to hone those skills by working on our two layouts.
Our location is #7-11 Street NE, Calgary near the Calgary Zoo and two blocks away from the Bridgeland-Memorial C-train station. We meet Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm to run trains and have train related fellowship. A number of Saturday mornings we also get together to work on the construction and maintenance of our layouts.

Adding a Snow Shed
/The club recently finished its new snow shed for the White Mountains area. The model was constructed from a wood Hunterline kit and it turned out great! Photos of the mountains fully painted will be uploaded soon.

CMT White Mountains Update
/The White Mountains at the club are looking less and less white all the time! Another mountain (known Phase 2) has been painted. All that is left to do is a coat of India Ink, some foilage and a bit of water. The club is now busy working on Phase 3.

CMT Open House Coming Soon! - November 5, 2011 (Updated)
/Well, it's that time of the year again. CMT's next Open House will be on Saturday, November 5th, so mark it in your calendars!
Come on down and see the projects we are working on and to meet the members. The club will be open from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, November 5th.
Donations welcome.
Update: Members of the Calgary Eurorail Express (CEE) will also be in attendance this Saturday and will be displaying a European-themed module layout. The club was formed in 2008 and focuses on European model railroading.
CMT at Railway Days September 24th-25th!
/CMT will be showcasing its module layout at the 25th annual Railway Days at Heritage Park. Make sure to come over and say hi!

CMT Peanut Butter Lid Challenge
/CMT completed its Peanut Butter Lid Challenge in May. Members were encouraged to create a scene on the top of a peanut butter lid. Pictures of entries can be found in our project gallery section here.
CMT SUPERTRAIN Update
/The Calgary Model Railroad Society (CMRS) recently hosted its annual SUPERTRAIN show on April 16th and 17th. The show was an overwhelming success. It brought in the highest attendance on record and attracted some very well done layouts and displays. Major commercial exhibitors such as Athearn, Rapido Trains, and Hobbycraft Canada / True Line Trains were also in attendance.
CMT displayed its updated and smaller module layout (see a few pictures below). This was a great opportunity for the club to interact with the public and it was a great experience for the club members.
