November 7-9, 2025: CMT NOVEMBER FUN-RUN with FREE-MO. This is an advance activity before the CHRISTMAS FUN-RUN. This is at the club location.

November 21, 2025: CMRS Slide Night. 7:00 pm-9:00 pm at River Park Church: 3818 14A Street SW, Calgary, Alberta.

December 21, 2025-January 3, 2026 (Not running December 23/24/25/26 and December 30/31/January 1, 2026): CMT CHRISTMAS FUN RUN with CALGARY FREE-MO.

February 2026: CMRS Layout Tours-further information to follow.

April 25-26,2026: Supertrain 2026: Olympic Oval-University of Calgary.

Upcoming Events

1. JAN. 17: 7 pm. annual CMRS "slide night", a night of watching photos taken by different local photographers on the prototype of their choice from around the world. Local: River Park Church, 3818-14A Street S.W., doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7pm

2. FEB.8/9: CMRS Layout Tours. These are usually broken into a North Part of the City on one day, the South part of the City on the next day. 

Times: 10am-4 pm daily. More details to follow.

3. MARCH 2: Annual CMRS Spring Flea market, Glenmore Inn. CMT will again be sponsoring the Flea Market. Doors open to the public at 9:00 am.

4. SUPERTRAIN, April 5-6 in the Olympic Oval in the University grounds. This is a new location for Supertrain.

5. The annual 6th Division of the PNR Spring/Summer Convention. This year the meet is in Hinton, Alberta, between Edmonton and Jasper on the CN Main line. If you have never attended a model train convention before it will be a great experience where you meet new friends, attend clinics and have a great time. More details to follow.

Calgary Model Trainmen in partnership with Calgary Freemo join forces for the first ever Christmas Run!

December 20, 2024-January 5, 2025 - 10-am-6 pm daily not including December 24 and December 25

CMT layout address: #7-11 Street N.E., Calgary

General Admission is $5.00 to observe, $30.00 – 4 hour operating run time

Bring that special Christmas loco or train that you want to run. Come and have Christmas fun as many times as you wish! DCC operation only.

Things to see:

  • CMT layout with our new double helix

  • 1075 square foot CMT layout complete with our 10 level double helix joined to the 880 square foot FreeMO modular layout

Bring your own DCC Digitrax throttle or WiFi for your telephone

Food will be on the premises, Coffee and pop all day

SUPERTRAIN is coming up fast! We are excited to say that we are participating again this year with our portable module layout.

It will be held April 20 & 21, 2024 at the Genesis Centre 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary, from 9:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. Come by and say hello!

By doing so, this adds great benefits to the club, The biggest advantage is that members now all have access to the members only section of the NMRA website so that they can gain more skills and knowledge from many experienced railroad modelers.
